Welcome to Salutary. by Sanshira

Published by Edmonton creative Sanshira Riep, Salutary. by Sanshira is a reflection on homes, design, and everyday living, stories, spaces and style — all Salutary.

A space for the Subpar, the Sarcastic, and the Slightly Unhinged — in the most Salutary. kind of way.

Our Community

Subar.

Is any content you consume really real? Is it actually that easy or common for people your age to be making millions of dollars a year? Does everyone keep their house clean and organized 24/7? How-come everyone is obsessed with losing weight?

I want Subpar. Real. Relatable.

Sarcastic.

Sarcasm runs in my blood, to a fault. Self-deprecating jokes? Check. Eliminating awkward silence with a gruesome 'would you rather' joke? Also check. A junkie for a boost of genuine serotonin — laughter

Striving for ____

Nothing, really. I guess I'm striving to create a community that also want to just 'do nothing'. Not actually nothing. But the nothingness of everyday life. Just being alive and taking in life's experiences (one broken appliance at a time)

Working on ____

My crushed hopes and dreams. Who crushed them? Me, duh. So in retrospect, the truth is that I'm working on myself. Call it exposure therapy, entrepreneurism, plain old killin' time.

Brb, doing CPR on my dreams. * sings 'First I was afraid, I was petrified' as Micheal Scott did *

Answers To Your Obvious Questions

Why 'Salutary.' ?

  • Well, the defination of Salutary is "to describe something that has a useful and corrective effect, often after an unpleasant experience.". I think this can apply to almost everything you experience in life. It's kinda a vibe, in a that-sucked-but-I-learnt-a-lesson kind of way.

Didn't You Fail At A Blog Before?

  • Yes, and that means you've been around for a while, so thanks for stickin' around. Perhaps 'fail' isn't the right word, but it's the word the voice in my head uses to describe most things I've tried in my life.

What's a 'Postcard Club' ?

Salt & Butter | #1

9/10 times Salt & Butter can salvage any Subpar food dish, sweet or savoury. Overcooked steak? Salt & Butter. Chocolate chip cookies? Salt & Butter. Tequila? Salt. While driving home, pondering this thought, I asked myself this — What's my Salt & Butter for a shitty day?

About Salutary.

A home for the over-caffeinated, under-qualified, and endlessly optimistic (most of the time). This isn’t about perfect homes or perfect people; it’s about trying your best, laughing when things go sideways, and finding comfort in the chaos.

Here, we talk about real estate, design, and daily life in Edmonton — the kind filled with half-finished projects, conversations about life's questions and the occasional existential crisis over your career.

Salutary. is for the ones who find joy in small wins, love a good thrift score, and believe “good enough” can still be beautiful. It’s stories, spaces, and style — all Salutary. All real.
